Yes, they show up on the "Feed" of both our sites. However, I've set my "Feed" to where only I can see it. You can do that too, if you'd like a bit more privacy, although anyone coming over to your profile page (which is where we are now) can see the pings.

As you already found out, I've set it so that I don't accept pings. I received your e-mail and responded. I hope you've seen my response.

If you just keep playing around by clicking on stuff to expore, it won't take too long to start feeling comfortable about it. At first it's pretty overwhelming.
